Storms damage Contra Costa County roads EL SOBRANTE, Calif. (KRON) – A winter of stormy weather has left several roads in Contra Costa County in a state of disrepair. Dips and erosion have taken a toll on San Pablo Dam Road.Old infrastructure coupled with the frequency and intensity of three months of storms created a major dip on the road. Contra Costa County Public Works let the area dry out a little bit before making temporary repairs to the thoroughfare Tuesday.“I think they need to dig it all down and see what’s going on down there – why there’s a water, you know, why there’s a sudden dip like that,” one driver told KRON4. Good Samaritan claims car, dog stolen by people she was trying to help (KDVR) — A metro area woman said her car and dog were stolen by individuals experiencing homelessness. “They took off with my car and my dog,” Julie Oliva said. Oliva said in late March, she stopped to help a man experiencing homelessness. She admits to letting him inside her Alfa Romeo to warm up. Soon after that man got out of her car, she said she noticed her cell phone was missing. Oliva said she then made contact with a group of people, also experiencing homelessness, who claimed to know the man in question. What can legally be done with a meth-contaminated home? Oliva said she allowed that group to ride with her in an attempt to find the alleged suspect. Once they arrived at the destination, Oliva said she got out of her 2020 Alfa Romeo to look for him.
