RODEO — A shooting Saturday night killed a person, authorities said.The person died at the scene and was not identified by authorities Monday morning, pending a completion of autopsy and notification of relatives. A strengthening Tropical Storm Idalia is now forecast to become a major Category 3 hurricane by early Wednesday ahead of a projected landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.Idalia (pronounced ee-DAHL-ya) is expected to be come a hurricane Monday night. The forecast path has the storm curling north toward Florida’s Gulf Coast Tuesday into Wednesday.The most current National Hurricane Center forecast discussion predicts top winds could reach 115 mph, making it potentially a Category 3 hurricane at landfall. (KRON) -- A violent brawl that broke out in a mall in Emeryville involving hundreds of teens was one of several similar incidents that occurred across the country Sunday. In Emeryville, one teen was stabbed and a gunshot was fired in connection to incidents that saw hundreds of teens descend on Bay Street Mall Sunday and engage in fights and disturbances inside stores.The incident bore strong similarities to incidents on Sunday in Southern California, Washington state and Albany, New York. (KRON) -- A Pleasanton man was arrested on Saturday after stealing thousands of dollars worth of pens from the San Francisco International Pen Show at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.The event showcases vintage pens from all over the world and hosts hundreds of vendors. People who attend are able to buy, sell and trade collectible pens. Man steals candy bar, strikes Walgreens employee with hand sanitizer in Millbrae Around 5:30 p.m., the man, Karl Emrich, stole over $5,000 worth of pens and accessories as he walked through the event, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said. The 72-year-old was eventually caught by staff and all stolen items were returned to their owners. Emrich was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Maguire Correctional Facility. (KRON) -- A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing a candy bar at a Walgreens store in Millbrae, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.Just before 5 p.m., a man attempted to steal a candy bar at a Walgreens located on El Camino Real. The man struck a store employee with a 1-gallon jug of hand sanitizer after they intervened, police said. He was later located and positively identified by the victim.
